A taste of what will be at area farmers markets:


At Saturday’s FreshFarm Market in Silver Spring, Atwater’s will have Irish brown bread; the Copper Pot Co. will have a Guinness in tortellini and potato soup; Evensong will have bangers (to go with your mash).

At Sunday’s Takoma Park Farmers Market, Keswick Creamery will have aged, raw-milk cheeses such as cheddar, Vermeer and feta along with pasteurized fresh products such as quark, whole-milk ricotta, yogurt and chocolate pudding; Cherry Glen Goat Cheese Co. will have Cherry Glen chevre and ricotta and five variations of soft ripened cheese (Monocacy crottin, Monocacy silver , Monocacy ash, Monocacy chipotle and Monocacy gold); Gunpowder Bison and Trading Co. will have pasture-raised bison steaks, roasts and burgers; Smith Meadows Farm and Stone Hearth Bakery will both have empanadas.

At Sunday’s FreshFarm Market in Dupont Circle, Dolcezza Gelato and Clear Spring Creamery will be back at the market. Dolcezza will have gelato and sorbet. Clear Spring Creamery will have milk. Anchor Nursery will have tulips.

At Wednesday’s USDA Winter Farmers Market in the USDA South Building Cafeteria, C&T Produce will have cabbage (75 cents per pound), curly kale ($1.25 per pound), broccoli ($2.50 per pound), greenhouse tomatoes ($2 per pound), white potatoes (99 cents per pound), sweet potatoes (99 cents per pound), beets (99 cents per pound), cauliflower ($3 per head) and eggs ($3.50 per dozen).
