Two Food section columnists win AFJ awards

Wilson, in fact, swept the top two places in the newspaper food column category: He earned first for his Spirits column for The Washington Post, while also taking second place for his work with the San Francisco Chronicle. Hagedorn won the food essay category for his remembrance of his late mother, Carol Norberg, and her influence on his cooking.

In other categories, the San Francisco Chronicle won first place for food coverage for newspapers with circulations of 200,001 and higher. The Boston Globe earned second-place honors, while the Chicago Tribune took third. For newspapers with circulations between 135,001 and 200,000, the San Antonio Express-News took first place for food coverage, and for newspapers under 135,000 circulation, the Akron Beacon Journal won top honors.
