Several prime locations for viewing the shuttle---which should be pretty hard to miss, considering its tonnage and low flying height---have been suggested. The timing is between 10 and 11 a.m. The area near Memorial Bridge, the Old Town Alexandria waterfront and National Harbor are prime locations.
Besides Memorial Bridge in Washington, the suggested viewing spots are: The east side of the Mall and the west side of the Capitol, Hains Point at East Potomac Park and the Southwest Waterfront Park from the Titanic Memorial to the fish market area.
In Virginia, possible good views are Long Bridge Park, located between I-395N and the railroad tracks near Crystal City and Gravelly Point, off the George Washington Parkway, near National Airport.
National Harbor is located just off the Wilson Bridge in Prince George’s County.
At the Udvar-Hazy Center, there is another opportunity as the shuttle approaches Dulles, at the museum’s parking lot.
