Meryl Streep wins New York critics award: Kennedy Center Honors Watch

On the way Streep won the Best Actress Award from the New York Film Critics Circle. The organization announced Tuesday she was being cited for her turn as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady.” A peek at her role follows.

Many of her acting colleagues are expected to salute the award-winning Streep Sunday at the Kennedy Center. The Washington Post Arts section on Sunday will feature interviews with Streep and the other 2011 Honorees: Sonny Rollins, Barbara Cook, Yo-Yo Ma and Neil Diamond.
