Last week he rode on a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. On Wednesday he is joining an all-star lineup at the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

Hope he finds his way down 95 by the weekend.

Following is Diamond singing a holiday medley, with special guests President and Mrs. Obama.

The ceremony at Rockefeller Center will be broadcast on NBC from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Also appearing will be Justin Bieber, Cee Lo Green, Carole King, Tony Bennett and Michael Buble.

Apparently people were singing “Sweet Caroline” as soon as Diamond appeared along the parade route last Thursday.

Diamond joins other Honorees in Washington this week. The salutes to Diamond, Meryl Streep, Sonny Rollins, Yo-Yo Ma and Barbara Cook will be broadcast on CBS December 27. On Sunday the Washington Post Arts section will feature interviews with the 2011 Honorees.
