Shakespeare in a brothel: behind the scenes with WSC Avant Bard

In this week’s Backstage column, WSC Avant Bard wants to take you to a brothel. Don’t worry — it’s an ambitious, artistic brothel, where the musical prostitutes perform mash-ups of Shakespeare’s histories. “The Mistorical Hystery of Henry (I)V,” in previews this week, is a play within a musical, where sketch comedy exists side-by-side with vintage newsreels and spontaneous outbursts of song.
