The 2013 Golden Globes: A gif recreation

The Golden Globe Awards have come and gone, leaving us with a sincere desire for hosts Tina Fey and Amy Pohler to knock Billy Crystal out of his position of perma-host, a small feeling of dread about a possible “Les Miz”-dominated award season, and overall red carpet fatigue.

And of course, our now-standard collective parting gift: lots and lots of GIFs. Here’s a run-down of the highlights of the night, as told in GIF form.

“Parks and Recreation” star Aziz Ansari obliged E! host Giuliana Rancic’s request to teach her the latest dance craze, creating a new move entitled “What? That’s racist. Don’t say that again!” And thanks to the power of animated imagery and bored, tech-savvy viewers, it may be the hottest new step.

Co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kicked off the ceremony with lovable zingers for nearly all the big names in the audience before caressing each other and discussing their respective nominations for television’s best comedic actress.

The duo’s gentle bashing seemed to go over well with the giggling crowd — except for one sequin-less Taylor Swift, who may have felt the need to embody a McKayla Maroney-esque unimpressed face for gymnasts Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, who arrived without the rest of the fab five.

Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell made the 27th “Saturday Night Live” reference before announcing Jennifer Lawrence as the winner of best film actress. Do we smell the makings of “Garth and Kat: The Movie”?

Back to Fey and Poehler. The best revenge for losing to a 20-something newbie? Canoodling with George Clooney. Well played, Poehler. Well played.

Meanwhile, Glenn Close got drunk.
