Ground Zero after attack is seen from space in newly-released image

NASA has released an image taken of New York City by a camera attached to the Landsat 7 satellite. It shows smoke billowing from the bottom of Manhattan — more than 24 hours after the attack. This photograph was taken on Sept. 12, 2001 around 11:30 a.m. Click on the image to see it full size:
