Photo of the day: What in the world?

Update: The city is Lagos, Nigeria, where an unidentified protester is shouting a slogan in front of a fire on a major road in the commercial capital. A fuel subsidy protest rocked Lagos Tuesday, with angry mobs of protesters stopping gas station owners from selling fuel.

In today’s photo of the day, a man is shouting something to a person off-camera as a fire burns behind him. It’s one of many fires set Tuesday in this mega-city in Africa. But where in the world is it?

Hint: It may be 2012, but the man in this photograph fits neatly into the category of Time Magazine’s 2011 person of the year.
