Update: The answer is Asuncion, Paraguay. Members of the Ava Guarani protested before police arrived to evict them from Uruguay Square. They demanded the government honor its promise to buy them 8,000 hectares of land in San Pedro, about 220 miles north of Asuncion, after an agreement made two years ago.

Occupying public squares hasn’t been limited to the Northern Hemisphere, as today’s photo of the day shows.

This protest started seven months ago and involves one group’s demand for government to buy them land it promised in an agreement two years ago. Where in the world is it?
