Pumpkin update: British ambassador’s dog rescued after Iran embassy takeover

A quick update: Two weeks ago, Dominick Chilcott, the British ambassador to Iran, and his wife, Jane, fled their home in Tehran after students ransacked the British Embassy. In the chaos of their departure, the Chilcotts had to leave behind their trusty dog Pumpkin. Pumpkin was later rescued by foreign ambassadors (who got into a bit of a diplomatic squabble over who could take care of the four-legged British citizen).

But all is well in Pumpkin’s world today. She flew into Charles de Gaulle airport, where the Chilcotts greeted her. She’ll stay in France until January, when the Chilcotts can finally bring her back into the U.K.
