UFO files released by the UK government: Balls of light, alien autopsy and more

Some of the key aspects of what files reveal (we’ll add more as we come across and let us know if you find any. The full database can be accessed here.):

What happens outside British airspace, stays in British airspace

Two sightings by government officials, one by crew of a Royal Air Force plane and one by a Royal Air Force officer in Sri Lanka, were not investigated because they took place outside of British airspace. The Sri Lanka incident was caught on camera:

The Ministry of Defense also decided that none of the reported sightings posed any risk to the integrity of UK airspace.

Always set your watches for the time change

An unidentified man sent a letter to the Ministry of Defense slightly worried that he’d had a close encounter. At night, he saw a cigar-shaped UFO hovering near his house. He awoke the next morning to find he had an hour of time unaccounted for. “I am now beginning to wonder if I was ABDUCTED. I have checked by body for marks but found nothing. NEVERTHELESS I am very concerned.” The Ministry of Defense had to let him know that the clocks fell back an hour.

Aliens are ‘balls of light’

If there are aliens, and so far it seems the files don’t admit that possibility, they have really high electricity bills. Many of the reports point to “balls of light,” both when referring to UFOs and to the actual aliens. “She saw four bright lights, absolutely unbelievable. The outer circle of the round object had eight lights going round in a clockwise direction and inner circle of lights, didn’t say how many, going round in an anti-clockwise direction,” read one report by the Ministry of Defense.

The Telegraph put together some of the video footage of UFO sightings. The most amazing one, by far, is the glowing ball of light flickering over the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem before shooting off into the sky. Watch it. It gave me chills:
