On Twitter, reports are flying that Saleh has been killed, but a special correspondent for The Washington Post in Yemen reports that Yemen state teleivison said Saleh is in good health and will make a speech or give an interview later to prove it.
An official told the Associated Press that rockets hit the compound while officials were praying at a mosque inside the palace.
Saleh, the prime minister, the deputy prime minister, the parliament chief and a presidential aide were wounded, according to that account. The AP reports that Saleh was lightly wounded, while the deputy prime minister and aide’s wounds were serious.
