That intern is mysteriously always at the office: First thing in the morning when everyone arrives, and after everyone leaves in the evening. But it’s still unclear whether that intern actually does more work than the other interns.
As soon as a very important task comes up (such as, “Who wants to take this file over to so-and-so’s office?”), the suck-up intern shouts, “I do!” before any of the other interns can even process the request.
And do not -- repeat, do not -- say something nasty about the boss in front of that intern, because the suck-up intern might just dutifully pass that information along to the person in charge.
About #THATintern: Every intern class has “that intern” — as in,“Don’t be that intern.” Each day I introduce you to one of them. Share your ideas on Twitter using the hashtag #THATintern. And check out our Intern City page, too.
