In this May 13, 2011 photo released by the National Park Service, a vehicle faces 23 feet of snow at Rock Cut on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. (National Park Service/AP)

Just as low pressure has been stuck over the East, it’s been stuck over the intermountain West. (The calm weather has resided in between) And the snow has kept coming at high elevations.

The image above shows the scene over a section of roadway in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado about one week ago and much snow has fallen since. Arapahoe Basin reported eight inches of fresh snow this morning according to the Denver Ski and Snow Report Examiner. Aspen Resort has a base of 71 inches at the summit and is re-opening for Memorial Day weekend.
