A daily assessment of the potential for *accumulating* snow for the next week on a 0-10 scale. More info

Today (Tuesday): Showers continue from the overnight hours, but should taper off and end by the midday period. Total rains should reach the 0.25-0.5 inches with locally higher amounts. These additions to our gauges keep March running ahead of normal for precipitation. Some breaks in the clouds are possible by afternoon. Temperatures are warm in the morning with 50s and possibly get up to around 60 around midday or early afternoon. By evening, temperatures drop off into the upper 40s and low 50s. Confidence: Medium

Tonight: Partly cloudy and colder with lows in the mid-to-upper 30s. Winds from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Partly sunny, breezy, and cooler with highs in the low-to-mid 50s. Winds from the northwest at 15 to 20 mph add an annoying wind chill component to the forecast. Also the relative humidity really dries out as high pressure works into the area. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Very dry humidity and colder temperatures return with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. Light breezes continue from the northwest direction. Confidence: Medium-High

Thursday is now favored to be our coldest day with highs only in the mid-to-upper 40s. Dew points are very dry, and light breezes from the northwest add a slight wind chill. The one saving factor may be mostly sunny skies with that stronger March sun angle. Another cold night Thursday with lows dropping well down into the middle 20s in the outer suburbs to low 30s in the city under mostly clear skies. Most folks see freezing temperatures. Confidence: Medium

Friday is a bit warmer with highs in the low-to-mid 50s under partly to mostly sunny skies. This is still near normal to cooler-than-normal weather. Friday night isn’t quite as cold with lows ranging through the 30s. Confidence: Medium

The weekend doesn’t look nearly as nice as the last one. Saturday has the best chance to be “ok” with highs in the 50s to near 60, but with increasing clouds and a 30 percent chance of afternoon or evening showers. Saturday night is expected to be mostly cloudy with lows in the 30s to low 40s. Sunday seems like the drearier day with cloudy skies, afternoon light rain or drizzle chances, and cold highs only reaching the 40s (well below normal). A bit of wet snow is not out of the question in some of the mountains to our west depending on where a cold front sets up. Confidence: Low-Medium
