Don’t let the beautiful weekend fool you. March is a volatile month and it’s tough to put together more than a few nice days in a row. We start the week on a high note with 60+ highs, but after a rainy front passes by Tuesday morning, it’s chilly the remainder of the week. Highs struggle to surpass 50 starting Wednesday, with breezy conditions to boot.

Today (Monday): Feels great out there. While we don’t have the abundant sunshine of the weekend, we have the warmth. After morning lows near 40, highs reach 60-65 under mostly cloudy skies. Winds are from the south around 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: The southerly breeze and blanket of cloud cover keep temperatures on the mild side. But an approaching cold front brings a line of showers into the region by the predawn hours. Lows range from 45-50 (suburbs-city). Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Rain showers are likely for the morning commute, but should taper off between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. from west to east. Total rainfall should range from around 0.25-0.5 inch. Skies partially clear in the afternoon, with highs near 60. Winds become out of the northwest at 10-20 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Skies turn clear and it’s colder. Lows range from near freezing in the colder suburbs to the upper 30s downtown. Winds from the northwest are around 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Wednesday through Friday are all cooler than normal and a bit blustery. Highs each day range from 45-50, with overnight lows Wednesday night and Thursday night from the upper 20s to low-to-mid 30s (downtown). Winds from the northwest at around 10-20 mph, with some higher gusts during the day, make it feel even chillier. Sky conditions are generally partly cloudy. Confidence: Medium

Cooler than average conditions persist into the weekend but winds should diminish a bit. Low pressure might develop along a front in the vicinty late Saturday into Sunday bringing a slight (20 percent) chance of light rain or mixed precipitation. Highs both days are in the 40s with lows in the 30s. Confidence: Low-Medium
