Today (Sunday): Today starts chilly with early-morning lows in the 20s to near 30. But we should have some good periods of sun even as it plays peek-a-boo behind some clouds through the day. That helps afternoon highs to the mid-to-upper 40s. Still cold, but feeling less chilled than yesterday thanks to lighter winds around 10-15 mph from the west/southwest. Confidence: High
Tonight: With partly cloudy skies and light winds from the southwest, it won’t be quite as cool as last night. Still, it’s likely many will need the ice scrapers as we head out to work in the morning. Lows drop to the upper 20s to m id-30s (suburbs to city). Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): We turn a touch warmer as we begin the work week, with mostly sunny skies and light breezes from the west. Most spots should see highs rise into the low-to-mid 50s. Confidence: High
Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy skies return to the area as a storm begins to organize across the southern U.S. If the system advances fast enough, we could see some light rain, snow, or wintry mix break out toward morning. Overnight lows dip into the 30s. Confidence: Medium
The Tuesday into Tuesday night forecast is one to keep an eye on. Chances are increasing that we’ll see some precipitation. The question is, how much and what kind? At this point it could be rain, snow or a wintry mix. Doesn’t look like a lot, though that could change. Areas north and west of D.C. have the best chance of being cold enough for a minimal wintry accumulation, but even there it’s not a high chance as of now. Mostly cloudy skies should keep highs from escaping the 40s, and north and west of town may struggle to even reach 40. Tuesday night lows bottom in the low-to-mid 30s. Confidence: Low
Wednesday brings increasing sun, but also cool and breezy conditions as high pressure begins to build in. Look for highs only in the 40s. Confidence: Medium
