Today (Thursday): The clouds are going to be hanging in tough again today and this will keep highs in the low-to-mid 50s. The sun is likely to peek through every now and then but it is a struggle as the circulation of Sandy remains huge and slow to move away. Winds from the west at 5-15 mph add to the chill. Confidence: High
Tonight: No stars expected as clouds are dominant. Evening readings quickly slip to the 40s but go no farther than mid-to-upper 30s for lows. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Friday): With some of the coldest air of the season overhead we have little hope of getting past the lower 50s for highs. Every time the clouds break up the minor warm up at the surface sets off more cloud building. Winds from the west are brisk at 10-20 mph so keep that jacket handy. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: There could be a few glimpses of the moon tonight but enough clouds to keep us from seeing widespread frost. Lows again stall out in the mid-to-upper 30s. Confidence: High
Saturday has the best shot at seeing sun break out more consistently. That does not mean there won’t be occasional cloudy spells but expect more balance. Highs are no better than low-to-mid 50s. Readings drop off faster without as many clouds and lows in the 30s cover the area. Enjoy the extra hour to stay snug in bed! Confidence: High
A disturbance is likely to pass to the south of the area on Sundayand that could throw more clouds our way but showers should not be part of the bargain. Highs remain stuck in the low-to-mid 50s. The one sure thing is that the sun sets awfully early now that Daylight Savings Time is gone, nearly 5 p.m. Clouds should hold in overnight and this should still hold most lows in the mid-to-upper 30s with only isolated frost northwest of town. Confidence: Medium
Monday is a real up in the air forecast. One model says partly sunny, while another has thick clouds and even a chance for showers. In fact, it is cool enough that the rain could mix with some snow by evening. My bet is on the drier outcome that would still give us highs in the low-to-mid 50s. Confidence: Low
