Normally, I associate November with blustery winds, gray skies, and raw rain. This week, we’ll have little weather of that sort. Instead, skies will generally be sunny, with several days of unseasonably mild weather, including tomorrow, Wednesday, and possibly Sunday. The only chance of showers is some time late Wednesday or during the day Thursday.

Today (Monday): We start off cold (30s) with patchy fog, but sunshine goes to work, quickly lifting temps through the 40s and into the 50s by noon. Afternoon temps reach the low 60s with perhaps a few mid-60s just south of D.C. No wind to speak of. Not quite “nice day” criteria, but really close. Confidence: High

Tonight: Starry skies and chilly. Lows range from near freezing in the colder suburbs to 40 downtown.. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Really, really nice (and the nice day sun is back!). After a crisp start, temperatures take a steady ride up into the mid-60s to even near 70 in a few spots. Breezes are light from the southeast at around 5 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Not quite as cold as the past several nights with flow from the south - but still chilly. Lows range from the mid-upper 30s in the cooler suburbs to the mid- 40s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

Mostly sunny Wednesday morning with some high clouds moving in late in the day. It’s a little breezy and very mild, with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Becoming cloudy Wednesday night, with a slight (20% chance) of showers. Lows are in the 40s to near 50 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

A cold front comes through Thursday. We can’t pin down the timing at this point. It’s possible we get one more mild push before it comes through with highs into the 60s. An earlier passage might cap highs in the 50s to near 60. I’m favoring the slower, milder solution. When the front comes through, we’ll have a 30-40% chance of showers, but this front doesn’t have a lot of moisture to work with. Becoming breezy and cool Thursday nights, with lows from the upper 30s to mid-40s (downtown) Confidence: Medium

High pressure builds into the region from the west Friday (Veteran’s Day), gradually pushing to our southeast by Sunday. This progression results in a warming trend. Friday’s partly sunny and breezy, with highs in the mid-50s. Saturday’s sunny and seasonable, with highs near 60. By Sunday, temperatures may reach all the way into the mid-to-upper 60s. Nights are clear and cold with lows 32-40 Saturday morning and and 35-45 Sunday morning. Confidence:Medium
