Today (Saturday): There’s lots of sun on the way today, but we may still also deal with some bubbling clouds during the afternoon in particular. Temperatures are creeping up. When aided by a light west wind, highs should head for the upper 80s to near 90 across the area. Confidence: High

Tonight: It’s mostly clear, with light west winds persisting. Expect another pretty fine evening filled with pleasant temperatures, though you may already be noticing the increased humidity, if not by afternoon. Temperatures slowly trickle down to lows near 60 in the coolest suburbs and the mid-to-upper 60s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): A small upper-level ridge of high pressure looks to hit peak on Sunday, and that means it’s going to be fairly hot. Dew points up near and past 60 also bring on some heat indices running 5-10 degrees above the temperature. Depending partly on clouds, highs should range from near 90 to the mid-90s. For now, I’m leaning less clouds and the higher temperatures. Take it easy out there... Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A summerlike evening gives way to a mild night. Skies are partly to mostly clear with light and variable winds. With that increased humidity, temperatures only make it to the low-and-mid 60s in the suburbs to near 70 in the city. Confidence: Medium-High

By Monday, we might be back into a regime that’s heading unsettled. I think the day is largely dry, and probably no worse than partly cloudy with perhaps a mostly cloudy interval. But, we’ll have to watch for some increased rain chance late in the day as we move forward. Highs should rise to near 90. Confidence: Medium

Tuesday probably brings the real increase in rain as a slow-moving cold front approaches the area from the west. It’s too soon to get into specifics, but from here it looks like there could be heavy rain potential as well as a strong to severe storm risk. For now, it’s about a 50/50 shot of such. Highs should be held back, ranging from the low-to-upper 80s, depending on sun to cloud ratio. Confidence: Medium
