Today’s Daily Digit
A somewhat subjective rating of the
day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

Much calmer winds, and sunny which is nice. But to go any higher I’d like it warmer than upper 40s/near 50.

Plenty of room for improvement after yesterday and we’ll do just that with far less wind and more sun. Conditions get even better as we start the work week (figures) with continued sun and temperatures closer to 60. By midweek, though, we’re looking at a good chance of rain, and another temperature forecast made tough by a warm front. We’re also looking at the last day of meteorological winter come Wednesday, the last day of February, with many of us still wondering when winter ever started?

Today (Sunday): Well, today we can enjoy ourselves without that gusty wind ruining everything. We still may not crack 50, but at least it’s mostly sunny and we don’t have wind chills in the 20s/30s to deal with. Look for afternoon highs in the upper 40s to near 50. What wind we do have (5-10 mph) will be turning to blow from the south later in the day. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: High pressure centered off the coast leads to a pleasant evening and overnight. Sure it’s a little chilly with lows from the upper 20s to mid-30s (suburbs to city), but like last night, mostly clear skies provide a great view of the crescent moon along with Venus and Jupiter. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): Granted we have to head back to work, but at least we get to enjoy the best day of the week weather-wise. High pressure stays in control and we’re looking at partly to mostly sunny skies, so make sure you bring along the shades. Daytime highs aren’t too shabby either, topping out near 60 to the low 60s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: It’s another uneventful but enjoyable night. We’ll see mostly clear skies prevail with overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 30s. Confidence: Medium-High

We should continue with partly to mostly sunny skies on Tuesday. Temperatures are a touch cooler with highs in the 50s. Still not a bad way to close out February. Skies turn mostly cloudy Tuesday night as a warm front moving in warrants a 30 percent chance of showers. Overnight lows are in the upper 30s to low 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Wednesday, a warm front followed by a cold front brings a good chance of showers (60-70% as of now). Don’t expect much in the way of sun. Much like this past Friday, temperatures depend on the exact placement of the warm front. For now, that means highs could be as low as the upper 40s or as high as the mid-60s. Confidence: Low
