My goodness have I been waiting a long time to issue a forecast like this. The sun is setting up camp for an extended stay, humidity is on the decline, and temperatures are settling into the comfort zone. The best news of all?... confidence is fairly high that our fun in the sun lasts at least through the weekend. BRING... IT... ON!!
Today (Wednesday): High pressure building in and a refreshing breeze from the northwest, at times around 10-15 mph, combine for a delightful day. Enjoy as mostly sunny skies carry afternoon highs to the low-to-mid 70s with low humidity. Confidence: High
Tonight: It’s a fantastic evening with temperatures dropping into and through the 60s. Mostly clear skies and winds becoming light allow overnight lows to dip into the 40s (suburbs) to near 50 (downtown). Confidence: High
Keep reading for the forecast through the weekend...
Tomorrow (Thursday): A light breeze from the northeast cools us off a touch from today, but with lighter winds it feels just as nice. Highs climb to the upper 60s to near 70 under sunny skies and with even drier air than today. Confidence: High
Tomorrow night: Clear skies, light winds and low humidity promote efficient cooling. That means lows mostly in the 40s, to right around 40 in the coolest suburbs. Confidence: High
Last week at this time, a slow-moving upper-level low pressure system meant a good deal of forecast uncertainty for the weekend, which turned out cold, cloudy and showery. Heading into the coming weekend, high pressure is almost certain to keep skies mostly sunny with gradually warming highs - near 70 to low 70s Friday, mid-70s Saturday and near 80 Sunday. Saturday and Sunday morning lows range from the 40s in the burbs, to near 50 to the mid-50s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High
