Today: Mostly sunny. Upper 80s to near 90. | Tonight: Isolated shower? Mid-60s to low 70s. | Tomorrow: Partly sunny. Increasing chance of showers/storms. Mid-80s to near 90. | A Look Ahead | Get Express Forecast by E-mail

We’ve had rain or at least a chance of it each of the past four days. That’s been good news for our drought, but has of course added an element of uncertainty to outdoor plans. We get a break from rain chances today, but they come right back tomorrow and Friday, before what looks to be another break Saturday into Sunday. All the while, temperatures remain warm but not too far past 90.

Today (Wednesday): Given it’s the middle of August, it’s hard to imagine a better day to get us over the Wednesday hump. Skies are mostly sunny and humidity’s not too high to boot, as afternoon highs reach the upper 80s to near 90 with light winds from the south. Confidence: High

Tonight: Partly cloudy, maybe an isolated shower, and otherwise an uneventful night weather-wise with lows in the mid-to-upper 60s (suburbs) to low 70s (downtown). Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Humidity rises a bit on Thursday, and the increased moisture in the air combined with an approaching cold front means the potential for more showers and storms - 20-30% chance in the morning, increasing to around 50% for the afternoon into evening. Highs are pretty average for mid-August - in the mid-80s to near 90. Confidence: Low-Medium

Tomorrow night: Still unsettled is the air around us, so we’ll keep a 50/50 chance of some showers and storms through the night. Lows are near 70 with plenty of clouds. Confidence: Low-Medium

Low pressure trying to develop along a cold front in our vicinity means partly cloudy skies on Friday and a continued chance (around 40-50%) of showers and storms, especially in the afternoon. Highs should reach the mid-to-upper 80s with noticeable but not awful humidity. As low pressure starts to move away, rain chances should decrease as we head through Friday night and lows drop to the mid-60s to low 70s (suburbs to city). Confidence: Low-Medium

A lingering morning shower isn’t impossible on Saturday, but by and large the day looks like a pretty good one with partly to mostly sunny skies, decreasing humidity and highs near 90. No weather worries Saturday night with lows in the mid-60s to low 70s (suburbs to city). Confidence: Medium

Sunday is a little tricky. Right now I’d lean toward a good deal of sun, increasing but decently comfortable humidity, and highs near 90. The caveat is that if our next weather system approaches quickly enough, then increasing clouds and a shower/storm chance could arrive by afternoon or evening . Confidence:Medium
