Super nice weather, but very dry air allows the high concentration ragweed to float about.

With hurricanes and earthquakes hopefully in our rearview mirror for the time being, it is refreshing to see such a calm, pleasant end of August and start of September on the road ahead. Slow-moving high pressure is building in overhead with its associated dry dew points, sunny skies, and comfortable temperatures. It will be very slow to depart our company even by this weekend, but as it does, we should see a bit more humidity and some shower/storm chances.

Today (Tuesday): Big and sluggish high pressure edges into our area today, clearing out most of the cloud cover that intermixed with our Monday. Mostly sunny skies, slightly warmer temperatures (low-to-mid 80s), and still low dew points make this a pleasant day. Light winds from the northeast. Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly clear and comfortable to downright cool in spots with lows from the low-to-mid 50s in the outer suburbs to low 60s in the city. Very light or calm winds. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Temperatures inch up slightly into the mid-to-upper 80s owing to light winds coming more from the south and southeast. Still relatively low humidity though with partly-to-mostly sunny skies. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: A few more clouds around, but should be partly cloudy skies overall. Lows in the mid-to-upper 50s in the suburbs to low-to-mid 60s in the city. Light winds. Confidence: High

Thursday-Friday sees high pressure stalling just along or off the East Coast, keeping a more easterly flow in place over our area. This enables a few more clouds to pop up (partly cloudy skies) and maybe a few showers, especially toward the mountains (20% chance). Temperatures should range in the low-to-mid 80s for highs and upper 50s to low-to-mid 60s for lows. Light winds from the east. All-in-all, I would still call this pleasant weather for the start of September. Confidence: Medium-High

The Labor Day Holiday Weekend features an increase in humidity with better chances for showers and storms toward Sunday and Labor Day. Saturday should manage partly sunny skies with low-to-mid 80s. Sunday sets up to be partly cloudy, mid-to-upper 80s, and a 30% chance of afternoon into evening showers and storms. Labor Day Monday sees more clouds than sun, a 40% chance of showers/storms, and highs in the low 80s. Lows through this last traditional weekend of summer range from the mid 60s to the low 70s. Confidence: Medium
