FORECAST IN DETAIL

It had to rain sometime, and that time is the weekend. Unfortunately we might be dodging showers through both days. On the other hand, it’s probably not a washout for many of us, but we’ll still have to watch for slow-moving bands of rain. Still, it has been dry for a while and it’s uncertain just how much of the heaviest of the rainfall will work into the area versus being located to the south and west. At least the sun returns for the work week!

Today (Saturday): It’s not likely we get one of those all-day rains out of this event, but we’ll need to be wary of showers the entire day. Showers (perhaps widely scattered) should begin rotating through by morning. The heaviest of any showers or t’showers are more likely during the afternoon or evening as the low gets closer and we go through peak heating of the day. Highs should reach the mid-60s most spots, perhaps a bit milder if rain does not amount to much. Confidence: Medium

Tonight: Showers, and maybe some rumbles of thunder, continue to be likely at times into the night. If headed out for any extended period of time, an umbrella is a probably a worthy accessory. Lows should settle in a range from near 50 to the mid-50s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Sunday): The upper-level low pressure that’s been meandering to our west all week finally passes to our south. That doesn’t help us a ton in the rain chances department, but it should rain less on Sunday and the odds may even dwindle to just “possible” as the day wears on. The further south and west you go, the more rain is likely as you’re closer to the low. Winds begin to shift around, and some cooler air starts filtering in, so highs may struggle to get much past the mid-60s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: A few showers could linger through the evening, but the trend is toward drier times again. It’s mostly cloudy with that shower chance early, though we probably end up partly cloudy as the shower threat largely ends by or after midnight. Lows reach the upper 40s and lower 50s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Monday might be a tough one to return to work on as it looks pretty spectacular. Mostly sunny skies should boost temperatures to the mid-60s or even near 70. This should be a drier, crisper type of mild day than the ones we’ve seen lately as well. Ahh, the desk life... Confidence: Medium

Waking up to morning temperatures in the 30s are a good reminder it’s still March on Tuesday, and we end up with a day a good bit closer to normal for this time of year temperaturewise. Still, rather brilliant as far as weather goes -- highs near 60 and lots of sun. Confidence: Medium
