With the notable exception of allergy-sufferers, we cannot complain about this stellar spring-time weather. Highs in the 70s, frequent sunshine, light breezes, and cool nights dominate the balance of this week to great effect. Unfortunately, rain chances still encroach on the weekend as super slow-moving low pressure approaches the area, but temperatures remain comfortable.

Today (Tuesday): Big high presssure takes its time moving through the Northeast and that means a continuation of our current great weather. Some clouds may pop up at times, but the sun will be a dominating influence again today with pleasant temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s, light breezes from the north, and relatively low humidity. Confidence: High

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with cool conditions and light breezes. An outside chance of a light shower in the far western suburbs (20% chance). Lows in the middle 40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): More sunshine rules the day with slightly warmer temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s. Light winds come from the north and east. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and cool continues with lows in the upper 40s in the outer suburbs to middle 50s in the city. Light winds again. Confidence: High

Thursday is partly to mostly sunny again with highs in the low-to-mid 70s. By Thursday night, some additional clouds could fill into the picture with lows dropping into the low-to-mid 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Friday could be a bit trickier as low pressure approaches the area. For now, I believe the main story could be a bit more cloud cover- perhaps partly sunny skies- with pleasant high temperatures still in the low-to-mid 70s. By Friday night, the clouds could produce showers (40% chance) under mostly cloudy skies with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium

The weekend is still warm, but that’s the best I can do right now as low pressure inches toward us from the southwest and sets up an increasingly wet situation over our area. I believe Sunday should be wetter than Saturday, but look for showers both days, especially in the afternoons and evenings under variable to mostly cloudy skies. Highs should be in the mid-to-upper 70s with lows Saturday night in the mid-50s to low 60s. Confidence: Low-Medium
