day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

Slow-moving high pressure is offering up some very nice weather for November. Even though the mornings still have some chill in the air, the afternoon sunshine and light breezes feel great today and tomorrow. Temperatures move up through the 60s with a chance to even touch 70 in spots (D.C. hasn’t hit 70 since Oct 19th!). Another cold front approaches by Thursday with clouds, some showers, and a shift to a colder Veteran’s Day. We see some temperature recovery this weekend with mostly complaint-free conditions.

Today (Tuesday): Sunny skies today should erode that morning chill such that by this afternoon, we feel widespread mid-to-upper 60s. All in all, most locations should be slightly warmer than yesterday. High pressure overhead keeps winds on the light side (mainly from the southeast). Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly clear and cool-to-cold with lows from the mid-30s in the outer suburbs to mid-40s in the city. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Another nice day with mostly sunny skies and mild-to-warm afternoon conditions. We might have a slightly better chance to see some spots hit 70F today with most areas in the mid-to-upper 60s. Otherwise, watch for some high clouds to slide in by mid-to-late afternoon ahead of the next cold front. Variable, but light winds, mainly coming from the south direction. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and not as cool. Lows range through the 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Thursday sees a 40% chance of showers, especially in the afternoon and evening with mostly cloudy skies. Highs are capped in the upper 50s to low 60s mainly due to cloudy conditions. The cold front is forecast to come through the area on Thursday evening. The sharp boundary could trigger some briefly stronger showers and then gusty winds as the cold front sweeps through. Overnight Thursday is partly cloudy with lows from the upper 30s to low 40s (enhanced by brisk winds). Confidence: Medium

Veteran’s Day Friday features our chilliest daytime conditions of the week. A storm strengthening up in New England wraps around windy conditions toward our area to make the highs in the lower 50s frequently feel like the 40s instead. Sky conditions should be variable with intermittent clouds and sun. Winds calm and temperatures drop Friday night with clearing skies and lows in the low to upper 30s, warmest in the city. Confidence: Medium

This weekend does not look bad at all. Mostly sunny skies dominate, and temperatures slowly warm. Look for upper 50s to low 60s on Saturday transitioning to mid-to-upper 60s on Sunday. Lows Saturday night should drop into the 30s again under mostly clear skies. Confidence: Low-Medium.
