Today (Friday): If only a bit warmer, the day would unquestionably qualify for a Nice Day Stamp. Yet, low-to-mid 60s should feel pretty great with April-strength sunshine and light winds. Thank the high pressure system sitting near us that is producing the sunny blue skies for us. South of town, in spots like Fredericksburg or even Culpeper, upper 60s are possible. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Take our team’s advice of looking up in the almost completely clear sky tonight to see Venus shining bright. CWG’s David Streit states that Venus is “unusually bright … and in dark rural areas [Venus] will cast a shadow.” So be sure to check it out. When outside, be sure to dress in a bit of warm clothing, as calm winds should allow for somewhat chilly temperatures before sunrise widely near 40 outside the Beltway, to upper 40s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Saturday): Should shine bright with sun. Please find a reason to get outside! High temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s — perhaps a bit higher, well south of the city — seem probable with southwesterly winds. They may become more noticeable in the afternoon as they are sustained at around 15 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: After a very comfortable evening for eating dinner on the patio, temperatures slowly dip toward the low-to-mid 50s before sunrise. It may be a bit cloudy, but so far it appears it should stay dry. The clouds help keep us a bit mild, but preventing heat from escaping from the air at the surface around us, overnight. Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday: This is when the oven may start to turn on, but not full-blast just yet. We start off quickly heading into the 60s after sunrise, and end up in the slightly muggy 80s. With light but warm southwesterly winds, there is a potential for temperatures to bump higher than the mid-80s that we currently expect. Combine this warm fetch of wind with mostly sunny skies, there is an outside chance we jeopardize records of 87 at Dulles and 89 at National. Confidence: Medium

Sunday night: Skies should only be partially cloudy, and it’s pretty pleasant — almost a summerlike evening and night. Lows may range from the mid-50s to lower 60s (downtown). Confidence: Medium-High

Monday may end up warmer than Sunday — with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s for almost everyone. Yet there is a shot at the 90 degree mark, especially south of town. We should have a good deal of sunshine, which helps boost temperatures, and we only occasionally see clouds. Confidence: Medium

Tuesday looks somewhat cloudy, perhaps with even a few showers falling (30-40% chance) from said clouds. This could hold temperatures in the low 80s, assuming clouds and perhaps even thundershowers do materialize and “hold back” the temperatures — but we’ll watch this as we go forward, and hone in on Tuesday. Confidence: Low-Medium
