Winds from the south and southeast at 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Partly cloudy, continued humid, and we still find a slight chance of mainly afternoon showers and storms south of the city (20% risk). Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s again, but most locations should be 1-2 degrees hotter than Tuesday. Light winds from the south continue to pump in the supply of humid air. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy, muggy, and more of the same with lows in the mid-to-upper 60s in the suburbs to low or maybe mid-70s in the hotter city. Light winds from the south and southwest. Confidence: Medium

Thursday offers the best chance for the most sunshine and the hottest temperatures of the week as we finally rid ourselves of the stalled front and prepare for a new weather system approaching from the Midwest. This gives us just enough window for mostly sunny skies, winds from the southwest, and highs in the low-to-mid 90s. Moderate humidity levels could make it feel like the upper 90s though. Thursday night finds a few clouds with lows in the upper 60s to mid-70s. Confidence: Medium

Friday features a new low pressure approaching from the Midwest that taps into moisture from the south. Widespread showers and storms dominate the afternoon into the evening (60% likelihood). Some of the storms could deliver some healthy downpours and strong winds, but as with typical summer-time weather, do not expect an even distribution of rainfall totals. Highs in the mid-to-upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms (40% risk) Friday night and lows in the upper 60s to 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium

Saturday should see more of our low pressure area, but now with cooler temperatures as it swings over. Highs are favored to only be in the low-to-mid 80s with scattered showers and storms again (60% likelihood). A few scattered showers are possible Saturday night as lows drop into the 60s. Sunday looks splendid with highs in the low-to-mid 80s, mostly sunny skies, and LOW humidity. Confidence: Low-Medium
