The Washington Post

New CWG commenting system & RSS feed

A redesigned was launched yesterday as many Capital Weather Gang readers have discovered. The redesign impacts this blog two primary ways:

1) We have a new RSS feed. Please update your feeds/readers to use

2) We have a new commenting system. This system includes a number of new features which you can read about here. One of the new features is the ability to earn a “badge” so your comments appear amongst “top comments”. Earning a badge only requires you contribute substantively to the community - so feel free to request one in the comment area below (some of you have already been added). It is intended to be inclusive rather than exclusive.

Finally, let us know if you have any further questions/comments about the redesign and/or the commenting system. As with any new system, there are some kinks that need to be ironed out and some will take more time to smooth over than others. You can also review the online chat today from Raju Narisetti, the Post’s Managing Editor, where he discusses the redesign.

Jason is the Washington Post’s weather editor and Capital Weather Gang's chief meteorologist. He earned a master's degree in atmospheric science, and spent 10 years as a climate change science analyst for the U.S. government.
