*Flood watch for the immediate area Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening*

Afternoon readings in the mid-40s to near 50 were pretty close to where they should be this time of year. Add in a good deal of sun throughout the day as well, as light winds, and it was pretty decent overall. Savor the calm while it lasts, we’ve got a rainy one ahead tomorrow.

Through Tonight: Clouds continue to thicken and lower as we head through the night, but it’ll stay dry. Lows mainly reach the upper 20s to low 30s, maybe mid-30s downtown.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): We should eke out a dry morning commute, as precipitation advances into the area by mid-or-late morning, covering most of the region by early afternoon. Precipitation may start as a period of sleet, particularly over far western suburbs. Rain then continues, with some moderate to heavy bursts, through the evening. Temperatures peak in the near 40 to mid-40s range. Total rainfall near or past 1” seems a decent bet. Not too fun!
