The nasty cold rain has departed, but clouds will only slowly trickle away from the region tonight as reinforcing cold air comes in from the north. Sunshine returns Wednesday, but it’s very chilly with temperatures some 5-10 degrees colder than average and gusty winds.
Through Tonight: Very slow clearing and cold. Perhaps by late tonight there will be sufficient breaks in the clouds to view our “mini” full “beaver” moon. Lows range from the mid-to-upper 20s in the colder suburbs to the low 30s downtown. Winds are from the north at 5-10 mph.
Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny skies make their return but gusty winds from the northwest keep it very chilly. Highs only make the mid-40s with winds out of the northwest at 10-15 mph, gusting over 20 mph at times. Wind chills will be in the 30s for much of the day.
