Priceless video from Hempfield, Pa. tornado

The tornado that touched down in Hempfield, Pennsylvania yesterday was serious. It damaged 90 homes and 30-35 homes are uninhabitable according to the Pittsburgh’s Post-Gazette. The National Weather Service is currently surveying the damage to assess its intensity. But adding some levity to the situation, is the play-by-play accompanying a home video of the storm.

In the video, shown below (which I posted to Twitter and Facebook last night), a young male excitedly describes what he’s seeing as the funnel cloud develops above his home. His passionate and energetic reporting make me think he could be the next Jim Cantore. (his pronunciation of “God” notwithstanding)...

The video is now making the rounds and is the most viewed video at But it’s not the first instance of an over-the-top reaction to mother nature going viral...
