As expected, the weak disturbance passing through the region this morning has been a light rain event for the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metro regions.
Some wet snowflakes have been spotted by CWG readers in Linden, Front Royal, Purcellville, and Winchester Va, and even a light dusting above 1,000 feet in Frederick county. But the snow has not stuck mostly, prompting the National Weather Service to cancel the winter weather advisory in Frederick and Carroll counties.
To find widespread accumulating snow, you have to travel to western Maryland (Garrett county) or north of the Mason Dixon line where total amounts may reach 1-3 inches or so.

Precipitation is expected to taper off from southwest to northeast gradually this afternoon. Where it’s snowing in western Maryland and southern Pennsylvania, just a little additional accumulation is likely.
