Weather image of the day: Last snow pile of 2011?

(The demise of a snow pile in Reston, Va. Wednesday. By CWG photographer Kevin Ambrose.)

He reminded me that the last year the western suburbs still had solid snow cover from Snowmageddon and Snoverkill at this time. And you may recall massive snow piles near BWI didn’t melt until early May. So this year we’re at least two months ahead in ridding ourselves of the unsightly heaps of soiled snow.

(That’s, of course, assuming we don’t get a freak late season snowstorm.)
