Here we go again. Another meteorological winter is almost halfway in the books and we are faced with a familiar question: Which is more pathetic so far?... this winter’s lack of snow?... or the hapless Wizards?
Yes, we’ve been here before. Just last year Capital Weather Gang readers considered this same question, as they did three years before then. The matchup is as close as it’s ever been, with both the Wizards and winter making strong cases for being crowned more pathetic:
The Wizards, despite wins against the two best teams from a year ago, own the worst record in the NBA at 5-28, are the only team that hasn’t won two consecutive games this season, and are a threat to finish the season with the worst record in NBA history.
Winter, meanwhile, is off to an ugly start for snow lovers. Through today D.C. has recorded a minuscule 0.2” of snow, as measured at Reagan National Airport. Even worse, Washington is in its longest stretch on record without a snowfall of 2” or more. And prospects for significant snow anytime soon aren’t too promising
We know it won’t be an easy call, but please vote in the poll below....
