Coach Bruce Boudreau said Mike Green will travel with the Capitals on their trip to Edmonton and Vancouver. Boudreau added that they hope Green will be able to skate Wednesday when the Capitals practice at Rexall Place.

Green has missed two consecutive practices with a twisted right ankle that he suffered against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. The injury occurred on the same play in which the defenseman was hit in the jaw by the puck late in the first period.

Sean Collins is also making the trip to western Canada, and for the majority of practice Tuesday he skated with Jeff Schultz. That would make the first two sets of defensive pairings Karl Alzner - John Carlson and Roman Hamrlik-Dennis Wideman. The latter pairing played together for several preseason games.

John Erskine (left shoulder) and Jay Beagle (concussion) will not travel with the team.
