Capitals announce 2012-13 preseason schedule

The Capitals on Tuesday released their 2012-13 preseason schedule, which features seven exhibition games. Washington will play three home contests at Verizon Center and another at 1st Mariner Arena for the second annual Baltimore Hockey Classic.

Of course, this calendar depends upon the NHL’s season getting under way on time in October. The league’s current collective bargaining agreement with the NHL Players’ Association expires on Sept. 15. A new CBA must be in place before training camps can begin.
