The Capitals’ Thursday practice is underway at KCI and everyone on the active roster is on the ice except for new father Keith Aucoin.

The 33-year-old center is back in Hershey today with his wife Maureen and their newborn son, Brayden. Aucoin is expected to be back in Washington on Friday for the game against the New Jersey Devils at Verizon Center, according to a team spokesman.

Without Aucoin in practice, Mike Knuble is skating on the right wing of the top line, but it’s likely that when he returns the veteran alternate captain will be a healthy scratch once again.
