Washington reassigned goaltender Braden Holtby, center Keith Aucoin and enforcer Joel Rechlicz to the AHL’s Hershey Bears Tuesday.

Holtby, who was brought up on an emergency basis under a goaltender exemption provision in the CBA because Tomas Vokoun was out with the flu, allowed five goals on 35 shots in Washington’s 5-3 loss to the Sharks on Monday night.

Rechlicz also appeared in the loss to San Jose, skating just 1 minute and 30 seconds but earning a 10-minute misconduct for comments he made on the bench.

Meanwhile, Aucoin was a healthy scratch against the Sharks after appearing in five consecutive games. He recorded no points and three shots on goal during tht stretch.

None of the three players were required to pass through waivers before joining the Bears.
