Capitals vs Blackhawks: open thread

Greetings from Verizon Center where the Capitals host Chicago in their preseason finale. The 2011-12 regular season opener is less than a week away and this is the final opportunity for a dress rehersal at full speed.

Check out the lineup for this evening’s exhibition game after the jump and take note of the top three lines, which are something we could easily see again maybe as soon as Oct. 8.

Michal Neuvirth starts in net for the Capitals while Corey Crawford gets the nod for the Blackhawks. The only regulars missing from Washington’s lineup are Matt Hendricks (undisclosed injury), Jeff Halpern (day off) and Jeff Schultz, who has been scratched in order for team officials to take another look at Dmitry Orlov.

Today’s game will be televised on NHL Network and on the radio at 1500 AM. The in-house feed will stream live on the Capitals’ website.

As always, share your thoughts on the game in the comment section below.
