For the first time this season, greetings from Verizon Center. The Capitals make their home debut in the preseason tonight against a less-than star-studded Columbus Blue Jackets lineup but it will be a good chance to see how a few Washington lines look.

Keep your eye on Troy Brouwer, who is making his first appearance in a Washington sweater, to see if he can jell with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom on the top line. And don’t forget that there’s still a roster spot out there to be won, with three of the contenders (Cody Eakin, Mathieu Perreault and Chris Bourque) all skating on the same line tonight.
