Braden Holtby has been recalled from Hershey and the goaltending prospect has joined the team in Chicago ahead of tonight’s game against the Blackhawks.

The Caps have not given a reason for the move, but they’re facing back-to-back games on the road and Tomas Vokoun acknowledged before starting in Winnipeg on Friday that he’s been battling a nagging injury.

Washington plays in Detroit on Monday.

Holtby, 22, is 20-15-2 with a 2.61 goals against average and a .906 save percentage with the Bears this season.

I’ll have more from United Center later this morning.
