Fourth-line forward Jay Beagle, who has been out with a concussion since October, has been cleared for full participation in practice, including contact drills, according to a team spokesman.

This is yet another step forward in Beagle’s recovery from the concussion he suffered when he was knocked out by Pittsburgh’s Arron Asham back on Oct. 13. It’s tough to gauge how many practices Beagle would need before being ready for game action, so I hope to find out if there is any timeline for his potential return to the lineup once the workout wraps up today.

In other news, the Capitals have a new look among the top two lines during practice on Monday.

Marcus Johansson is now skating on the left wing of the top line with Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin on the right side. All seven healthy defensemen are on the ice as are both goaltenders.
