For Capitals fans frustrated with three straight disappointing playoff runs, it may have come as a surprise to read owner Ted Leonsis’s comments on his expectations for the upcoming postseason.
“I haven’t put Stanley Cup or bust on this year,” Leonsis told The Post’s Katie Carrera. “I don’t think that is an honest way to look at the team, because anything can happen in the playoffs – health, luck, officiating, how you play.”
Leonsis added that the Capitals would certainly have to do better than last year, when they fell to eighth-seeded Montreal in seven games, but would that be enough for everyone else?
A Stanley Cup wouldn’t hurt, of course, but what would you consider to be the bare minimum for Washington come April and perhaps beyond? Vote in the poll and then share your thoughts below.
