Despite the hint from owner Ted Leonsis on his blog Sunday, there are no call-ups from Hershey on the ice for the Capitals’ Monday practice. There are, however, six defensemen taking part in the practice session.

Mike Green, who suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury Friday, is the only blueliner on the Capitals’ roster not on the ice for practice at KCI this morning.

John Erskine, who was scratched for Saturday’s game, and Roman Hamrlik, who left the 3-2 shootout loss to New Jersey after the second period with an undisclosed injury and did not return, are both taking part in the workout.

Washington departs for a three-game road trip this afternoon, and depending on the health of each defenseman, it seems logical that the team might elect to recall someone from Hershey as a precaution. So far there has been no such move, even though Coach Bruce Boudreau visited Hershey Sunday to take in the game with Bears’ General Manager Doug Yingst.
