With the Capitals off today, defenseman Mike Green made the trip this morning to Hershey, where he practiced with the Bears at Giant Center. Green has missed 19 straight games since suffering a concussion on Feb. 25 when he was hit by the Rangers’ Derek Stepan, but on Wednesday, Coach Bruce Boudreau said he expected the two-time Norris Trophy finalist to play in Washington’s regular-season finale at Florida this weekend.

From Tim Leone of The Patriot News:

The aim is for Green to return to Washington’s lineup Saturday.

“That’s the game plan,” Green said. “Whether or not it happens, we’ll see. It’s up to the team and the team doctors whether they want me to play. I’m ready.”

Green mainly paired with Zach Miskovic.

“It adds a little jump to your practice as a coach,” French said. “I think the players enjoyed it.”

When he addressed reporters on Wednesday, Boudreau said Green had been “symptom-free for three weeks, plus.” On Mar. 28, though, Green said he was still experiencing symptoms “here and there”.
