Last week, Coach Bruce Boudreau said that the lines he used in Sunday’s practice would hint at what configuration he’s leaning toward on the top line.

Well, it’s Sunday and the top line features Alex Ovechkin skating with Nicklas Backstrom and Troy Brouwer. Read into that what you will, but at the very least it’s possible we see that group together Monday night in the first home preseason game against Columbus.

Check out the full lines and defensive pairings from today’s practice after the jump.

*Those missing, who are still on the training camp roster, are Jason Chimera, D.J. King and Sean Collins. King and Collins played in Chicago and practiced yesterday and were given the day off according to a team spokesman.

Chimera, meanwhile, did not play against the Blackhawks after leaving Friday morning’s practice for what Boudreau called at the time precautionary reasons. I will get an update on his status after practice.
