The Capitals’ longest-tenured player is set to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent this summer, and it’s looking like his time in Washington could come to an end.

This past season, Alexander Semin saw his ice time dip to an all-time low average of 16:47. The Russian winger was also unhappy with other aspects of his role in Washington, according to his agent, Mark Gandler, and will look for a way to earn more responsibility next season.
